Question
What must a person do if he swore by Allah and by the Qur'an to abandon a sin, then returned to it and now wants to repent?
Answer (English translation)
He must repent and offer the expiation for the oath. If he swore, for example, not to commit adultery and then returned to it, he must repent and offer the oath expiation: feeding or clothing ten needy people, half a sa' for each -- approximately 1.5 kilograms -- along with repentance.
