Our Sources
This directory describes the sources used across the website and the limits of their reproduction and translation. Each entry’s own attribution, named author or publisher, and page references where available remain its direct reference. Attribution does not imply publisher endorsement or a general right to republish.
Qur’an
The Uthmani Hafs text and recitations are from the King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex. English meanings are supplied by QuranEnc.
A translation of meanings is distinct from the Qur’anic text and from tafsir. Translation and audio availability depend on their providers.
Browse sectionTafsir
Al-Tafsir al-Muyassar, from the King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex dataset.
The displayed commentary is Arabic. English navigation does not make it an English tafsir translation.
Browse sectionSunnah
The Encyclopedia of Translated Prophetic Hadiths (HadeethEnc), with the references and explanation available for each hadith.
Hadith grading and references are attributed to the source; this website does not create new gradings. Text and explanation availability depend on the service.
Browse sectionIslamic Creed
Aqidat al-Tawhid by Salih ibn Fawzan ibn Abdullah Al-Fawzan; individual sections identify their source work and pages.
English renderings are distinguished from the Arabic original. Use the source work and page references to check the wording.
Browse sectionSeerah
The Seerah of Ibn Hisham (al-Saqqa edition), with available source pages and editorial notes.
Missing pages are identified where relevant. Some English entries are editorial renderings or summaries, not a complete published English edition.
Browse sectionFatwas
Fatwas are attributed to the scholars and providers named on each entry. The scholar’s name and source details form part of the attribution.
Distinguish the original answer from a translation or summary. General fatwas do not replace consulting a qualified scholar about an individual case.
Browse sectionHajj and Umrah
Al-Mukhtasar fi Sifat al-Hajj wal-‘Umrah wal-Ziyarah in the light of the Book and the Sunnah, prepared by the Scientific Office of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance.
Topics follow the local source, with Qur’anic quotations drawn from the site’s mushaf text. English is a rendering of the Arabic material; the guide does not provide current travel or Hajj administrative rules.
Browse sectionPath of Islam
The publications identified at the end of each lesson, including Osoul materials and editions distributed through IslamHouse. The source edition may differ by lesson language.
Consult the lesson’s own source list and translation or verification notes. An English edition is not automatically the source of the Arabic lesson.
Browse sectionMuslim Companion
Adhkar and supplications use HisnMuslim data. Prayer times, Qibla, calendar and zakat are calculated tools that depend on inputs and settings.
Check prayer times and dates against the relevant local authority. Tool results are not a personal fatwa.
Browse sectionCommunity articles
The source supplied with the published entry. Public entries come from the website’s publication workflow.
Publication approval alone does not establish independent scholarly review or an open licence for the original material.
Browse sectionContent rights and reuse
Texts and translations remain attributed to their rights holders. Attribution is not an open licence; reuse is subject to the rights holder’s terms.
An open-licence or republication-permission label requires documented terms for that material. An available API or download alone does not establish that permission.
