Question
May Allah reward you. In his second question this questioner says: what is the ruling on delving into the Essence of Allah, O Shaykh?
Answer (English translation)
The Shaykh:
It is not possible to delve into the Essence of Allah the Exalted, because being asked about knowing the true nature of Allah's Essence is an impossibility, and whoever seeks that may fall into ruin and misery. Rather, we reflect and ponder upon the Names of Allah and His attributes, as the Exalted said: [And to Allah belong the most beautiful names, so call upon Him by them, and leave those who deviate concerning His names; they will be repaid for what they used to do] (Surah Al-A'raf 7:180).
