Read the corresponding Arabic sectionAs news of the Messenger spread through Arabia and reached distant lands, it reached Yathrib. The Aws and Khazraj knew of him especially well because they heard Jewish scholars speak of a coming Prophet; the Jews were their allies and lived among them. When the people of Yathrib heard of the dispute between Quraysh and the Messenger, Abu Qays ibn al-Aslat, of Banu Waqif, was mentioned.
