Ibn Ishaq says Allah knows whether the Messenger himself said that Dhu al-Qarnayn was a king who traversed the earth. Concerning the question about the spirit, the Qur’an says: “The spirit is of the command of my Lord, and you have been given only a little knowledge” (17:85).
